Cats are obligate carnivores

Cats have evolved to eat a purely meat based diet. They have a much higher requirement for protein than your dog, and a requirement for specific amino acids. Raw feeding might be a good option for some cat owners, but this is not as straight forward as it may seem. A balanced diet can also be achieved without going fully raw.
